Let me preface this by saying I’ve already gotte

Let me preface this by saying I’ve already gotten a freshly picked bouquet of flowers, a beautiful card with heartfelt words, a delicious breakfast in bed, coffee in bed, getting out of bed at 8:30 while my husband did everything — dishes, morning kid stuff, etc! I don’t know how moms do it without a partner to truly share the load, and even with an incredible partner…motherhood is A FREAKING LOT!

Also, if this day is hard for you, I see you. I lost my mom in 2011 when I was 25 and honestly until I became a mom, I really really really disliked this day. Sending you lots of love if you have a fraught relationship with this day. ❤️

Laundry? Dishes? Never heard of them. Find me outside putzing around the garden, weeding (maybe!), planting, scheming, dreaming…but forgetting that come mid-August I’ll be up to my eyeballs in weeds and pests and tomatoes to train 😆 A girl can dream, right!?

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t anticipate

When I woke up this morning, I didn’t anticipate having to bathe a poopy chicken butt but I got humbled real quick! And really, after two kids, a chicken wasn’t that much grosser…just a little unsure of the whole downstairs situation on a chicken. 😆 I watched a video from @purelychickens about 10 times and hyped myself up on how to tackle it — and I think it was ok!

@botanicalbytes had to step in for the blow drying assist, and that part she absolutely *loved* and was cuddling with me and doing contented little coos. A nice warm breeze on her girly bits? Chicken spa day! 🐓🧖🏼‍♀️

Imposter syndrome rearing its ugly head right on cue!! After gardening for 4 years in LA then moving to Massachusetts, it felt like I had to re-learn everything…and this year, my 4th year growing in this climate, I finally feel like I have a solid grasp on timing and what needs to go in when, but of course my brain wants to tell me that I don’t know anything about gardening 😆
