The squeaky wheel gets the grease, as they say! Or in our case, the recurring broody chicken gets the fertilized eggs. This is her third time going broody since December, and she only started laying last October — she’s one persistent, determined, and stubborn lady. Takes one to know one 😆

I thought about putting day old chicks under her, but opportunity knocked AKA my friend @actonfoodforest has a rooster and gave me some eggs…so we shall see what happens! She is SO happy to not be in broody jail and have me reaching under her grabbing her clutch of eggs she sits on.

I put 12 under her, because we aren’t sure about some of them — but this could escalate quickly. I’ll report back in 3 weeks 🐣🐣🐣🐣🐣

If this reaches you, HELLO!! I absolutely love meeting fellow level-headed people who are into plants and baking but also have let their kids eat Goldfish before because freaking DUH??!! Like our entire generation grew up on capri sun and dunkaroos and yes we eat healthy yummy homemade food but I’m not trying to raise my kids under a rock.

I just like growing food and being a homebody and learning about nature, but I also believe in science and female reproductive health. I always dread finding a cool new account then realizing there are some big 🚩🚩🚩 so hopefully this finds the right folks!!

When I say I hate leaving the house, I mean it with my whole heart. I don’t know if it’s getting older or if it’s just the weirdness of the past few years but I really don’t enjoy it anymore. It doesn’t help that EVERYTHING is so expensive. It makes my jaw drop seeing prices of restaurants, coffee shops, everything. Even thrift store prices are through the roof! It’s all just stupid and not worth it.

So don’t ask me if I have weekend plans, because the answer is usually no and that’s on purpose. I’m working in the garden, hanging with my husband and kids and animals, puttering around the yard and house. And I wouldn’t have it any other way!
