I have 4 4′x16′ raised beds in my front yard. pictures of this are scattered in various posts. I have various edibles throughout the rest of the front yard, primarily blueberries and alpine strawberries.
I have planted a number of fruit trees, stone and citrus, to go along with the very mature lemon and tangerine trees that came with our house.
Hey Chris,
I lost the email address you gave me at the fair in September? October? Does you CIT mail get forwarded to you? I sent you an email at that account, but don’t know if it’s still active.
Ehhh…dont you get people or animals coming to ruin or steal the veges that you grow on the front? They are so exposed. My frontyard is very exposed too and I worry about this problem.
Hi Chris,
My name is Jeanie Aguilo and I am a senior at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona working towards my bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning. I am currently working on my Senior Project, along with my group member Jerome Joaquin, with our topic on Small-Scale Urban Agriculture with a focus on Edible Gardens. Our interest in sustainability as well as thinking outside the box led us to researching community gardens. We stumbled upon your work in Pasadena from reading last August’s Planning article titled, “Lawn Be Gone.”
We are very interested in incorporating you as one of our prime examples of small-scale urban agriculture in our Senior Project as well as using your own edible garden as a key case study in our research. It would be a great honor to work with you and to exchange ideas and thoughts in regards to edible gardens in general.
If you are interested in helping us with our project, please email me at jiaguilo@gmail.com and we can continue to further our communication from there. Thank you so much.
I have front yard veggies and fruits. I enclosed the area with a row of ornamental grasses. My neighbors had no idea I had a garden in the front yard.
